Breakfast is said to be the most important meal of the day, and with the big festival weekend ahead its long days and nights, that meal is even more important to start your day and keep you going throughout the festivities.
Whether you prefer a hearty breakfast or something sweet, Ocean City is full of amazing breakfast places, but we have a few favorites!
Happy Jack Pancakes
The “Ocean City House of Pancakes,” Happy Jack on 26th Street, has specialized in pancakes for over 50 years. The family-run breakfast place has over a dozen varieties of pancakes from traditional ones to their specialties like Elvis Pancakes or Cookie Dough Pancakes.
But they don’t just have pancakes. Their other breakfast items including Belgian waffles, French toast, omelettes, and more are perfect for people who aren’t necessarily pancakes lovers.
It’s the perfect stop for any breakfast lover, and for those who need gluten free options, they have a special gluten free menu!
Coral Reef
Mixing the traditional and new, Coral Reef has a menu full of breakfast classics as well as delicious, unique dishes. You can get your eggs, bacon, and toast if you want to keep it simple, or branch out a bit and try their Malted Mini Waffles or Lemon Blueberry Ricotta Pancakes. They even have a delicious Grits Breakfast Bowl.
Their breakfast handhelds are also a great choice. Their Start Fresh Wrap features scrambled egg whites with mushrooms, spinach, onion, and provolone cheese all wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla. Or try their Sunrise Sandwich with an egg cooked any style, cheddar cheese and your choice of meat all served on an english muffin.
Stop by on your way to the festival – they serve breakfast until 11:30am!
Layton’s Family Restaurant
Starting as a donut shop in the 1960s, Layton’s has been an Ocean City staple for over 50 years. Countless tourists and locals have frequented the restaurant over the years, and for good reason, their menu features all the favorite diner breakfast options like omelettes, waffles, and pancakes cooked to perfection, proving you don’t have to be fancy to make delicious food.
And don’t miss out on what got them started! Their donuts are some of the best and a treat you can take with you on your way to the festival.
Captain’s Table
Treat yourself to a hearty breakfast at Captain’s Table, located on the 3rd floor of Courtyard by Marriott on 15th Street. Their breakfast options include the usual fare of omelettes, pancakes, French toast and more, but their Captain’s Benedict featuring jumbo lump crabmeat is a standout. So if you’re needing your crab fix or just want a great breakfast before the festival, stop by and try their delicious food.
So, as you’re gearing up for an exciting festival weekend, remember that a good breakfast not only satisfies your hunger but also sets the tone for a day filled with music, fun, and unforgettable memories. Whether you opt for fluffy pancakes, a savory omelette, or a sweet treat, Ocean City’s breakfast scene – and our favorites – have something for everyone.
